Happily, Dick’s stories have reached children across the globe.

For example, French Guiana is an overseas department and region of France located on the northern coast of South America in the Guianas and the West Indies. It is bordered by Suriname to the west and Brazil to the east and south. Its capital city is called Cayenne.

If you should happen to be in the area, you could visit the Bibliothèque Alexandre Franconie and borrow the French language version of Paddy’s Pot of Gold, which is titled ‘A Pot Full of Gold’.

I learned something today. As well as being a a British savoury food spread based on yeast extract, ‘marmite’ is also the name for a traditional crockery casserole vessel found in France.
