The Pig Potato

The movie “Babe” was primarily filmed in Robertson, New South Wales, Australia.

There’s not a whole lot of excitement in the sleepy town of Robertson, so the farmers, bored and restless one day in 1977, got together and decided that they should build a giant concrete potato. The idea was to showcase the main crop of the area and to bring in some tourist dollars by attracting visitors to the potato.

The giant spud measures about 10 meters long and four meters wide.

To mark the 30th anniversary of the movie Babe, the Big Potato has been temporarily repainted to feature Babe and friends. A great honour indeed.
